Intrigued by the results of a deep geophysical survey that suggests the presence of mineralization at depth,
The property hosts a resource of about 1.5 million tons grading 1.5% copper and 4% zinc. The company says its drill program is based on a “radical interpretation of the geology and structure,” as well as the results of Quantec’s deep survey, which suggests possible mineralization at depth.
Fancamp recently expanded its holdings in the Maritime province by staking 27 claims covering about 4 km of strike length on the NE contact zone of the St. George Batholith, near St. Andrews. This area has attracted attention since
The NE contact is a major northwesterly trending fault zone that can be traced along the entire north contact of the batholith. The fault zone forms a 1-km-wide corridor containing parallel streams and narrow lakes, suggestive of the presence of numerous fracture zones.
Fancamp notes that there has been no recorded exploration work on the property. A prospecting program will begin once weather conditions permit.
Fancamp also holds rights to explore and acquire a 200-sq.-km concession in the Kangaba goldfields of southwestern Mali. The Kourouba property is held under an exploration permit valid for three years and renewable for further 3-year terms. It hosts a geochemical gold anomaly that was identified during a regional geochemical exploration program carried out by the government in 1997.
