Junior Fairstar Explorations (FFR-M) has begun exploring two of its gold properties in Ghana.
At the previously unexplored Abuakwa property, the company is preparing a grid for upcoming soil and ground magnetometer surveys. The surveys will test a 12-km-long, northeasterly-trending gold anomaly recently identified by reconnaissance geochemical surveying.
Fairstar has committed to spending US$500,000 on the property, which lies on the northeastern extension of the Asankrangwa gold belt, immediately west of the Ashanti gold belt.
On the Benso property, the company has started a 4,000-5,000-metre diamond drill program in an effort to test an induced-polarization anomaly measuring 2.5 km long by 0.25-0.5 km wide.
The drilling will concentrate on four widely spaced targets and is part of an ongoing US$2.8-million exploration program aimed at following up previous results from three prospects on the property.
The Benso property is on the southeastern side of the Ashanti gold belt.
