Partners Soloman Resources (SRB-V) and Channel Resources (CHU-T) have announced encouraging drill results from the Bombore First project in Burkina Faso, West Africa.
An 11,558-metre Rotary Air Blast (RAB) drill program was carried out in an attempt to test new areas of gold mineralization around eight gold prospects. These include: Kiin Tanga, Camp des Orpailleurs, Colline de Fusille, P8/P9, Flexure, P11, Siga and Kariin Tanga.
The RAB holes were drilled from north to south at 1.5-km intervals over a strike length of 14 km. The most significant results from the eight fences of holes are as follows:
* Fence 1 — 3.6 grams gold per tonne over 24 metres, including a 4-metre interval grading 9.9 grams;
* Fence 2 — 0.7 gram gold over 12 metres;
* Fence 3 — 0.62 gram over 48 metres;
* Fence 4 — 1.9 grams over 40 metres, including a 4-metre interval of 11.71 grams;
* Fence 5 — 1.54 grams over 4 metres;
* Fence 6 — 2.44 grams over 31 metres, including a 4-metre intercept of 14.65 grams;
* Fence 7 — 0.58 gram over 32 metres; and
* Fence 8 — 1.25 grams over 12 metres.
Drilling is expected to continue until an additional 1,500 to 2,000 metres are completed.
Solomon has earned a 45% interest in the project from Channel by spending $2.5 million on exploration.
