EXPLORATION – NEWS ROUNDUP — Mishi Creek slated for drilling

Though best known for its gold projects in Quebec’s Urban and Barry twps., Murgor Resources (MUG-M) says more work is planned to test its Mishi Creek gold property in the Mishibishu area of northwestern Ontario.

Partner Battle Mountain Canada (BMG-T) has completed prospecting and mapping of the Dorset zone and intends to conduct 2,500 ft. of drilling. The major can earn a 60% interest in Murgor’s 594-claim property, situated 9 km from the Eagle River gold mine and 80 km south of the Hemlo gold mines.

Earlier this year, Murgor reported that drilling of the Dorset zone target had returned 0.11 oz. gold per ton over 72 ft. within a sequence of hydrothermally altered mafic volcanics. The zone was traced through prospecting and induced-polarization geophysical surveys for more than 3 km.

The junior holds other claims in the region and plans to test six targets These range from “Dorset-style” mineralization to high-grade quartz vein Eagle River-type targets, as well as iron formation and possible Hemlo-style gold-molybdenum mineralized porphyry.

In the spring, Murgor expects to carry out prospecting, mapping and trenching on some of these targets, including an area where porphyry grab samples assayed up to 0.29 oz. gold and another area, near the Eagle River mine, where quartz veins have returned assays of up to 5.6 oz. gold.
