EXPLORATION ’93 — Azco permit approved for Sanchez copper

Azco Mining (TSE) has received approval of its final environmental impact statement for the Sanchez project near Safford, Ariz.

Azco originally submitted a plan of operations to the Bureau of Land Management in August, 1991.

Yearly production from the planned 12-million-ton-per-year solvent extraction-electrowinning operation is projected at 56 million lb. of cathode copper. Cash cost: about US49 cents per lb.

Preliminary reserves are estimated to be about 191 million tons grading 0.31% copper.

Azco hopes to start constructing the plant this summer if financing can be arranged for the estimated US$75-million capital cost.
