EXPLORATION 1999 — Mansfield digs Santa Rosa

Junior Mansfield Minerals (MDR-V) continues to assess the mineral potential of the Santa Rosa gold-silver property in Argentina’s Salta province.

Encouraging results are reported from eight trenches dug across the Tom showing, four across the Kelly showing and one across the Porphyry showing. Gold values varied from 0.89 to 84.49 grams gold per tonne, plus between 3.8 and 192 grams silver, over channel lengths of between 1.5 and 14 metres.

Results are still pending for some channels.

The Tom showing is the most advanced of the three, having been trenched intermittently along 250 metres of its 600-metre surface expression. It has also yielded the highest grades to date: 84.49 grams gold and 192 grams silver over 1.5 metres. Trenching continues, as does geophysical surveying.

Mansfield can earn a half-interest from a subsidiary of Argentina Gold (ARP-V) by spending US$500,000 over a 3-year period. As part of the agreement, Mansfield contributed 8,035 ha of surrounding ground to the property.
