EXPLORATION 1999 – Lac Nadeau drilling to start

Canspar Resources (CSZ-M) has identified drill targets at the Lac Nadeau property in northern Quebec.

The Laval-based junior is testing a magnetic anomaly coincident with surface samples that carry high concentrations of nickel and copper. About 100 metres away, an earlier drill hole encountered 1.5 metres of sulphide mineralization with nickel, copper, palladium and platinum values.

Canspar is also compiling exploration data on its Menarik property in the James Bay region, where a chromite prospect also carries platinum and palladium values. Canspar took an option to earn a 50% interest in the property from Pro-Or Mining Resources (POI-M), which had drilled 36 holes on geophysical anomalies, finding both chromium and nickel-copper mineralization.

Drilling beneath chromium showings outlined a resource of 3.7 million tonnes grading 8.7% Cr2O3. Combined platinum and palladium grades in the chromium mineralization ranged from 1.5 to 3.5 grams per tonne.

Beneath a surface nickel showing, a Pro-Or drill hole intersected 17.9 metres grading 0.6% nickel and 0.4% copper. A 3.7-metre segment of that interval graded 1% nickel and 0.4% copper.
