EXPLORATION 1997 — Noveder plans to explore Fleur de Lys

Data from historic exploration, combined with results of recent prospecting, have prompted Noveder (NED-M) to plan an exploration program for the Fleur de Lys property in northern Newfoundland.

Work to date has revealed several geological environments that render the property prospective for porphyry copper deposits and Cyprus-type (copper-zinc-silver) deposits associated with ophiolitic complexes.

Samples from old exploration pits have yielded values of up to 22% lead and 10.6% molybdenite, while those from another prospect returned up to 19% copper and 0.75% zinc, as well as 0.73 gram gold per tonne. Several other mineralized showings were identified and catalogued during the field program.

Noveder says a dozen interesting areas have been identified for follow-up work. This will include geological mapping, geophysical and geochemical surveys. A drill program of about 3,000 metres will then test the best targets.
