Rouyn-Noranda, Que.-based Coleraine Mining Resources (CRI-M) has found three gold-bearing zones at the Perron property, 12 km west of Normetal in northwestern Quebec.
The first zone is associated with a pyritized rhyolitic sequence with injected quartz veins. The second and third zones occur in sericitized and pyritized andesite with injected quartz veins on either side of a gabbroic dyke.
Among the best holes were: hole 1, which intersected 1.2 metres (from 89.1 to 90.3 metres) in zone 1 grading 12.9 grams gold per tonne; hole 2, which returned 2.2 metres (from 147.9 to 150.1 metres) in zone 3 grading 8.83 grams; hole 3, which cut 1.1 metres (from 62 to 63.1 metres) in zone 2 grading 37.08 grams; and hole 4, which intersected 3.95 metres (from 170.85 to 174.8 metres) in zone 3 grading 12.22 grams.
The zones remain open along strike and at depth, and further drilling is planned.
Coleraine is earning a half interest in the property from Falconbridge (FL-T) by spending $750,000 over four years.
