EXPLORATION 1997 — Bulk-sampling program begins at Glimmer gold mine property

Operator Exall Resources (EXL-T) has extracted and stockpiled 7,000 tonnes from the Glimmer gold project in northeastern Ontario. The material is being shipped to the St Andrew Goldfields mill, 33 km west of the Glimmer project.

Exall expects to mine 15,000 tonnes from six production headings this month. The bulk sample is being mined in preparation for full-scale production. Exall hopes to bring the mine on stream as early as July, at an annual rate of 65,000 oz. gold with cash costs of US$220 per oz.

Exall has rights to a 60% interest in the project, with Glimmer Resources (GME-V) holding the remainder. At last report, the property hosted minable reserves of 499,490 tonnes averaging 11.14 grams gold per tonne.
