Vancouver – A trenching and sampling program conducted by Everton Resources (EVR-V) has returned more encouraging results from the Manuel gold showing at the company’s wholly owned Wildcat 5 property in the Opinaca region of northern Quebec.
The recent channel sampling program returned high-grade values of up to 12.01 grams gold per tonne over 4.6 metres on the Manuel showing, which was mechanically stripped over 9 metres along the strike of previously identified mineralization.
The four channels were spaced 2-3 metres apart, and were cut perpendicular to the mineralized structure. From east to west, they returned values of 11.79 grams gold over 4.2 metres, 8.29 grams gold over 4.2 metres, 12.01 grams over 4.6 metres, and 5.37 grams over 4.5 metres. Based on prospecting and field observation, the zone remains open in all directions.
The latest results were obtained about 500 metres east of a previously tested portion of the Manuel showing, where grades of 74.79 grams gold, 24.2 grams gold, 11.14 grams gold, 3.3 grams gold, and 1.74 grams gold were returned from rock outcrop samples.
The initial discovery of the Manuel showing was made in mid-August, and was followed up by mechanical trenching and detailed sampling, and an Induced Polarization (IP) ground geophysical survey. Everton is analyzing results from work to date and plans follow-up prospecting and mechanical trenching on the IP anomalies.
The company holds a large land position in the Opinaca region near James Bay, including the Wildcat 1-7 properties totaling 302 square km, and including claims adjacent to the Eleonore high-grade gold deposit being developed by Goldcorp (G-T, GG-N). Some of the properties are being explored as joint ventures with other companies.
Everton also holds a portfolio of properties in the Dominican Republic, including those prospective for gold or gold-rich polymetallic deposits.
