Etruscan Enterprises (EET-T) has discovered a new source of gold mineralization on the Tiawa concession in Niger, West Africa.
The junior discovered the Boulon Djounga West zone while trenching a coincident geophysical-geochemical anomaly on the Samira horizon, about 10 km west of the Samira gold deposit. That deposit has been optioned by Etruscan to Placer Dome (PDG-T), though the discovery is outside of Placer’s option area.
Although the anomaly has been traced over a strike length of 3.6 km, drilling and trenching have focused on only a 350-Metre portion of the trend.
Results from the trenching program ranged from a high of 4.85 grams gold per tonne over a width of 62 metres to a low of 0.27 gram over 61 metres.
Results are in hand from reverse-Circulation drilling in the vicinity of trench BJT1. They include: 28 metres of 0.95 gram gold; 22 metres of 1.48 grams; 17 metres of 0.85 gram; 16 metres of 2.7 grams; and 41 metres of 1.84 grams.
Etruscan plans to carry out more drilling to trace the favorable horizon to the border of nearby Burkina Faso. The company says its new discovery on the Samira horizon confirms that the Tiawa concession hosts an emerging gold district.
Recent geophysical work by Etruscan has shown that the Samira horizon continues on to the Dtambi concession in Burkina Faso. As a result, the company has secured an agreement to acquire a 45% interest in the concession.
