Based on preliminary results of a geophysical program, Etruscan Enterprises (EET-V) has identified two major zones of interest on the Kossa permit in Niger’s Liptako gold district.
The junior holds an option to earn a 50% interest in the permit by spending US$3.5 million on exploration and development over three years. The land package is 220 km northwest of the capital city of Niamey, and comprises 1,875 sq. km.
More than 80% of the permit is underlain by rocks of the Birimian group. The permit also covers artisanal workings, which extend for 12 km over the western part of the property.
An airborne survey has identified a 16-km-long zone of structural deformation, associated with the known artisanal diggings. A second structure, 6 km wide, extends for more than 30 km across the entire concession.
Etruscan has two other gold concessions in Niger: the Taiwa and Koma Bangou.
A portion of the former concession, which hosts the Samira gold deposit (27.8 million tonnes averaging 2.02 grams per tonne), has been optioned by Placer Dome (RDG-T).
