Esso gets values from sampling on Cline’s property

Cline Development Corp. has received assay results of stripping and channel sampling by Esso Minerals Canada on the Markes showing of the Cline East property optioned to Esso and is expecting assays from drilling shortly.

A total of 171 samples from 365.8 ft of channel was cut and assayed on the property located about 15 miles northeast of Wawa, Ont., about 1.5 miles northeast of Canamax Resources’ Kremzar property.

The average uncut grade calculated from five channels up to 30 ft in length across a carbonatized section between two shears is 0.16 oz gold per ton. These include higher grade intervals as follows: 0.4 ft of 0.62 oz, 6.8 ft of 0.41, 1.5 ft of 1.26 oz and 3.3 ft of 0.44 oz.

The most significant assays were from channels cut across a zone of carbonatized and pyritized pillowed mafic metavolcanics bordered by pronounced shears trending east- west and dipping 70 degrees north.

Esso did about 4,000 ft of drilling in 12 holes to a maximum of 500 ft. Results of the drilling program are expected within the next three weeks. Esso can earn a 75% interest in the 12 claims of the Cline East property by spending $750,000 on exploration by October 14, 1989.

Under terms of the same agreement Cline is entitled to participate on a 25% Cline-75% Esso basis in any properties acquired by Esso within one kilometre of the optioned property. Esso has advised Cline that it has acquired by option an additional five claims contiguous to the Cline East property immediately to the south of the Markes showing. Cline has advised Esso of its intention to participate and maintain its 25% interest in the additional five claims.

Cline has another six claims adjoining the Cline East property which is optioned to Noranda which has also completed a drilling program. Results from there are also expected within three weeks.
