Energex finishes Toodoggone work

The $2.3-million exploration program on Energex Minerals’ Toodoggone area property in northern B.C. has been completed. A month ago the company raised another $300,000 (flow- through) to extend the program and test the Ridge zone.

Surface trenching and diamond drilling tested the zone over a strike length of 2,000 ft and the program included several deep holes which Arne O. Birkeland, president, says were “encouraging.” He notes that the “silicious pyritic host rock was encountered in all three holes at the projected target depths with anomalous to significant precious metal values.”

Some of the wider gold-bearing intercepts included: 26.3 ft of 0.11 oz gold, 15.5 ft of 0.16 oz and 9.9 ft grading 0.12 oz. The highest grade intercept was 3.3 ft of 0.34 oz. Assay results are pending from some broadly-spaced holes in the zone. Surface trenching and close- spaced drilling were completed over a strike length of 1,500 ft on the Bonanza deposit. Several good holes were reported including 52.9 ft of 0.36 oz gold, 11.5 ft grading 1.0 oz and 11.5 ft averaging 0.15 oz. The Ridge zone is 1,000 ft northeast of the Bonanza.
