Skeena Resources says encouraging results have been received from drilling by operator Noranda Inc. on the Schroeder Mountain area of the Maggie Creek Ranch property at Carlin, Nev.
Skeena is in a joint venture on the property with Tenore Resource Corp.
To date, 30 holes totalling about 10,000 ft have been completed, in a 2-purpose program. Firstly, the ongoing shallow hole program is being used to infill previous drilling by Getty Mines on a 7,000-ft long gold geochemical anomaly at Schroeder Mountain.
Secondly, this mineralization will be tested at depth along the trend of the anomaly and where it intersects the northeast-trending Gold Quarry fault.
The deeper drilling will be in the order of 800-1,500 ft, Skeena says.
A second reverse circulation drilling rig with a deeper capacity and higher penetration rate has been moved onto the property, to begin deep testing of the mineralization outlined by the first rig.
