Encouraging results by Orofino, Canuc

Seventeen holes were drilled in the G/H/X zone, the principal area of interest following the 1988 drill program in which a 75.8-ft intersection in hole G-88-3 averaged 0.35 oz gold per ton, and an 11.3-ft intersection in X-88-1 returned 0.21 oz.

Drilling this year, in holes G-89-7 through G-89-10, intersected significant gold values in the vicinity of hole G-88-3, the company reports. Among the better results: Width Gold Assay Drill Hole(ft) (oz/ton) G-89-7 18.3 0.85 G-89-8 4.5 0.42 G-89-10 5.7 1.03

17.9 0.21 X-89-8 4.8 0.35

The company, whose joint-venture partner on the project is Canuc Resources (TSE), says a re-interpretation of the geological model is being made to better test the occurrence of the wide, gold-rich quartz zones such as those encountered and to help in the discovery of new zones. Current reserves stand at 860,000 tons averaging 0.22 oz.

The Coronation Gulf property lies 375 miles northeast of Yellowknife.
