Montreal-listed Explorations Minieres du Nord (EMN) has identified four gold-bearing structures on its property in Barry Twp., Que.
The property, which is 100 km east of Lebel-sur-Quevillon, consists of 29 claims. EMN has completed the 11-hole, first phase of its drill program, and a more thorough phase is under way. About 2,000 metres will be drilled over the next few weeks.
The best results from the first phase were 0.3 metre of 5.3 grams gold per tonne, 0.14 metre of 2.47 grams, 0.17 metre of 3.46 grams and 0.1 metre of 2.76 grams.
Visible gold was identified in a 0.37-metre-wide, pyrite-bearing chert horizon, and within a microfracture.
Pleased with its results thus far, the company has decided to acquire additional claims, which are adjacent to the property’s northern boundary.
Meanwhile, the company has acquired two properties near gold discoveries in the Eastmain region of the James Bay Lowlands.
The 59-claim Eastmain-7 property is adjacent to a recent discovery made by Eastmain Resources (CDN).
Preliminary work to date has included geophysical surveys and 3,000 ft. of diamond drilling.
The other property, Eastmain-2, is contiguous with the discovery made by Virginia Gold Mines (ME) and Diabior Explorations (ME).
Both properties exhibit structures similar to those that host the discoveries.
