Exploration is under way on the Kenty gold prospect wholly-owned by Emerald Isle Resources. Located about 75 miles southwest of Timmins, Ont., the property consists of a contiguous block of 16 patented claims.
Work includes stripping and trenching on the 21 known gold bearing veins surrounding the two 500-ft vertical shafts sunk during the 1930s. The company says this work is in preparation for a large- scale bulk sampling program for a distance of 1,800 ft between the two shafts.
During the current stripping operations, three new veins have been discovered in close parallel proximity with vein widths of up to 10 ft. Gold values were indicated by sampling of the veins. These veins have been stripped for distances of 200 ft to 300 ft in length and are open at both ends.
