Ecstall starts program on Forgold polymetallic project

A field exploration program budgeted at $410,000 is under way on the Forgold claims, 25 km north of Eskay Creek in the Iskut River region of northwestern British Columbia.

The 2-phase exploration effort is being carried out by Ecstall Mining (VSE) which has a 50% interest in the project. The company is responsible for half the costs of the work programs.

The Forgold property adjoins the Noranda/Kennecott/ High Frontier joint venture GOZ-RDN claims where a number of gold-polymetallic mineral discoveries were made and are being further explored this year. A camp has been built on the Forgold property and crews have started the first-phase program. This work will consist of grid-baseline construction, prospecting and soil-rock sampling surveys, and IP-Mag-VLF geophysical surveys along the Forrest Kerr fault.

The second part of the program will include about 10 holes totalling 1,000 metres to test diamond drill targets outlined during the first-phase program. Drilling is expected to start in early September.

Last year’s prospecting program on the Forgold property is reported to have led to the discovery of a widespread

polymetallic sulphide mineralized zone estimated at two kilometres long, at least 500 metres wide, and open in all

directions.
