Drill contracts have been submitted for tender, and surface gridding is expected to begin soon at the Kidd project of Eastmain Resources (CDN) in Timmins, Ont.
The junior was recently awarded a $26,000 grant from the Ontario Mineral Incentive Program.
Eastmain owns two strategic claim blocks (known as the North and South blocks) along strike from the Kidd Creek copper-zinc-silver mine. The South block has never been drilled.
Meanwhile, Eastmain is planning to drill its Reservoir and Lac Hudson gold properties in northern Quebec, and to carry out surface work at its Akweskwa gold property near Timmins.
