Drilling by Eastmain Resources (ER-T) at the Railroad property near Bathurst, N.B., has intersected some thin, but extremely high-grade zones of massive sulphides.
Six holes were drilled on the Railroad prospect itself, and two intersected significant base metal mineralization over narrow widths. Hole RRD01-01 cut a 0.5-metre core length grading 33.4% iznc, 17% lead, 0.4% copper and 342 grams silver per tonne. A further 500 metres to the east of RRD01-01, hole RRD01-04 intersected 0.25 metre of 19.8% zinc, 8.2% lead, 1.6% copper and 205 grams silver per tonne.
A third hole drilled on the prospect intersected a wide zone of altered rock with disseminated and stringer-style sulphides, where the combined zinc, lead and copper grades made about 1%.
Seventeen other holes tested targets away from the main Railroad prospect. Hole RRD01-06 intersected 16 metres of iron formation (of oxide and silicate mineral facies) on a known exhalative horizon. At the Sprig Brook prospect, hole RRD01-12 intersected a 20-metre length of disseminated sulphides.
