Vancouver – Trench sampling by Dynasty Metals & Mining (DMM-V) on its Dynasty copper-gold project, in southwestern Ecuador, has uncovered high-grade gold and silver mineralization.
Sixteen trench samples taken on 12 epithermal vein swarms at the Papayal and Cerro Verde zones returned an average grade of about 21 grams gold per tonne over typical widths of around 1.3 metres. Silver values ranged from 29 to over 5,100 grams silver per tonne.
The vein swarms occur over a 12 km by 3 km area and are associated with porphyry intrusives occurring in a 90 km long by 20 km wide mineralized corridor trending northeastwards from Peru.
Dynasty Metals has identified six major copper-gold porphyry systems in the project area.
Ecuador was recently thrust into disarray with the removal of President Lucio Gutierrez by the country’s Congress. Vice President Alfredo Palacio has been appointed to replace the ousted president. Gutierrez, a former army colonel who led the coup in 2000, has been granted asylum in Brazil. Ecuador has had nine presidents since 1996.
