Drills turn at Burntbrush

Diamond drilling is under way at the Burntbrush gold property, 150 km northeast of Timmins, Ont.

Tri Origin Exploration (TOE-T) optioned the 5,000-ha property from French-owned Cogema Resources in early 1997, and can earn a full interest through undisclosed, staged exploration expenditures.

The junior has performed a deep-penetrating ground geophysical survey, uncovering several anomalies that extend to depths of at least 300 metres below surface.

These anomalies will be drill-tested, as will gold- and base metal-mineralized zones that were intersected by Cogema between 1986 and 1992, when 58 shallow holes were drilled. Tri Origin’s first, 2,500-metre phase of drilling will focus on anomalies deeper than 100 metres.
