Drilling is under way on the Fishhook Lake gold property in the Northwest Territories. Gitennes Explorations (ASE) is testing two recently discovered zones with a series of short drill holes.
Six holes were completed on the Wholly Bugger zone, a 100-ft. wide band of mineralized and altered iron formation. Assays are pending from this drilling which encountered up to 110 ft. of iron formation.
Drilling is also planned for the Firefly area which includes two large mineralized fold closures as well as the intervening limbs.
Gitennes also expects to drill on the nearby TQY property, a joint venture with Tanqueray Resources (VSE).
The mineralized iron formation in the Firefly area extends onto the TQY property, and Gitennes reports that the only sample assayed from the area returned a grade of 1.23 oz. gold per ton.
