A 6,000-ft. drilling program is under way at the Birk Creek property in the Adams Plateau area of south-central British Columbia.
Falconbridge, operator of the program, can earn a 60% interest in the property from Victoria Resources (VSE) by spending a total of $1 million on exploration.
Three trends of significant base and precious metal mineralization have been discovered on the property to date.
The primary target is a 1.5 mile-long, northwest-southeast striking mineralized trend characterized by lenses of zinc-lead-copper-sulphide mineralization with associated silver values.
Victoria said the mineralization typically displays an alteration style associated with volcanogenic massive sulphide type deposits.
Drilling in 1990 intersected 38-ft. grading 0.17% copper, 0.4% lead, 1.0% zinc, and 0.33 oz. silver per ton. The hole included a 2.2-ft. intersection grading 1.1% copper, 2% lead, 6.6% zinc, and 2.38 oz. silver. On completion of the current drilling program, Falconbridge will have spent a total of about $500,000 on the property.
