Drilling is expected to begin shortly at the Norite project in northern Saskatchewan.
The property is owned by Consolidated Pine Channel Gold (VSE) and is under option to Noranda (TSE) which can earn a 51% interest by spending $1 million on exploration by the end of 1992.
The companies plan to drill a minimum of 1,000 metres in 10 holes to test a number of electromagnetic anomalies.
Groundwork has identified a number of noritic ultrabasic sills intruded along contacts within a sedimentary basin. The sills vary in width from 80 to 100 metres and are mineralized with pyrrhotite, pyrite, and chalcopyrite. Dale Hoffman, president of Pine Channel, said the drilling will start on the L anomaly where grab sampling assayed up to 0.68% nickel, 0.6% copper, 0.15% cobalt plus precious metal credits.
