Toronto-based Tiomin Resources (TIO-T) and Quebec government-owned Soquem have begun drilling on their jointly held Annic nickel-copper-cobalt project near Manicouagan, 110 km northwest of Sept-Iles, Que.
The partners are drilling several holes on the Fortin property, just east of Lake Manicouagan, where surface samples graded as high as 1.87% nickel, 1.21% copper and 0.19% cobalt.
Another eight holes will be drilled 15 km southeast of Lake Manicouagan on block 22K-16B where the partners identified a 7-km-long series of geophysical conductors, one of which produced an average grade of 1.44% nickel, 0.17% copper and 0.11% cobalt from two trenches 100 metres apart.
