Drilling started at Lac’s Apolinario

Drilling is under way at the Apolinario gold property in Chile, Lac Minerals (TSE) reports.

The major gold producer has an 85% interest in the property which is located on a mountainside 16,000 ft above sea level, 300 miles north of Santiago.

A 50-mile access road up to the property was completed about the end of July. Lac has budgeted $2.5 million(US) for exploration of the property.

Trenching and surface sampling provided mineralization containing grades of more that one oz gold per ton and significant silver content, the company says.

Five potential ore structures were identified with geology similar to vein systems found at the producing El Indio gold mine (St. Joe Gold) located 20 miles to the southwest, Lac reports.
