Drilling extends Battle zone

A recent hole drilled by Westmin Resources (TSE) extended the Battle zone discovery by 30 metres east of section 16+92E on the company’s Myra Falls mine property near Campbell River, B.C.

The hole returned 10.6 metres grading 1.7 grams gold and 21.4 grams silver per tonne, 1.6% copper, 0.03% lead and 18.2% zinc.

The hole was also viewed as encouraging because the ore intersection was diluted by more than 20% dyke material, meaning grade would have been higher. The Battle zone is one of several recent discoveries made by Westmin on the Myra Falls property where newly found reserves grade considerably higher than ore currently being mined.
