Drilling expands Wolverine to N.W.

Drilling near the property boundary in the northwestern area has expanded the Wolverine massive sulphide deposit more than 120 metres downdip of previous drill holes.

Hole 96-35 intersected 3.5 metres true width grading 1.96 grams gold and 558 grams silver per tonne, as well as 15.64% zinc, 0.83% copper and 3.9% lead.

Hole 96-36, collared 100 metres west of hole 35, and intersected the zone 120 metres downdip of hole 95-20. A true width of 3.7 metres averaged 1.51 grams gold and 221 grams silver, plus 10.53% zinc, 0.56% copper and 1.22% lead.

Drilling is continuing to stepout to the west.

Situated in southeastern Yukon, the project is a 60-40 joint venture between West- min Resources (WMI-T) and Atna Resources (ATN-T). The partners are working on expanding the deposit, which is partially defined at a 3-million tonne resource grading 1.87 grams gold and 350.2 grams silver, plus 12.99% zinc, 1.27% copper and 1.43% lead.

Meanwhile, stratigraphic drilling in the Fisher zone area, 8 km northwest of the Wolverine zone, is intersecting a favorable rhyolite-argillite host sequence but, as of yet, no significant mineralization. Several more drill holes are planned.

Southeast of the Wolverine zone, stratigraphic drilling encountered a calcite-pyritic horizon above the Wolverine and below the magnetite iron formation. This new target was intersected by hole 96-34, returning up to 0.88% zinc over 2.4 metres. The area will be followed up with additional drilling.

In related news, Atna has completed about one-third of a planned 915-metre drill program on the Argus property, one of several properties under option from YGC Resources (YGC-V) in which Atna can earn a 65% interest.

The Argus property lies within the Yukon-Tanana terrane in the Finlayson Lake area. Atna reports it has encountered encouraging zinc-lead mineralization over significant widths in three holes drilled to date.
