More assay results were released by equal partners Silver Butte Resources (VSE) and American Fibre (VSE) from ongoing drilling on the SIB claims in the Eskay Creek region north of Stewart, B.C.
The claims adjoin the southern end of the Eskay Creek property owned by Prime Resources Group and Stikine Resources.
The most significant results were in the mudstone intersected in holes 24 and 25. Hole 24 averaged 0.27 oz. gold and 18.83 oz. silver per ton over 32.9 ft. (from 95.1-121.4 ft.), while hole 25 averaged 0.36 oz. gold and 36.68 oz. silver per ton over 41.1 ft. (from 116.1-157.2 ft.).
These two holes were drilled about 33 ft. south of holes 30 and 8 which respectively assayed 0.42 oz. gold and 30.91 oz. silver over 46.9 ft., and 0.23 oz. gold and 54.93 oz. silver over 9.84 ft.
The joint venture was advised by its consultants that the vein-hosted mineralization encountered in holes 24 and 25 trends subparallel to the previously drilled sections. The mudstone lying between the veins and adjacent to the veins carried fracture controlled mineralization similar to that encountered in previous holes.
It was also noted that the massive barite-stibnite veins in holes 24 and 25 appear to occupy a steep northeast dipping, southeast striking fault traced on surface for 1,000 ft. along strike. Several other cross faults with associated alteration are also reported to occur on the SIB property.
