Drilling at Pino Andino disappoints

Recent drill results from the Pino Andino property in central Argentina’s Neuqun province have proved disappointing for Minera Andes (MAI-A).

The program, which was designed to evaluate a zone of gold mineralization encountered in earlier drilling, consisted of 3,265 ft. of

reverse-Circulation drilling. The company will determine its next course of action once the drill data from this latest program have been compiled.

The most significant mineralization encountered at the copper-gold porphyry during the 9-hole program was recovered from hole PA-23, which returned 20 ft. grading 0.035 oz. gold per ton. Other results include 30 ft. grading 0.044 oz. in hole PA-27 and 60 ft. of 0.72% copper in hole 23.

Meanwhile, chip sampling at the company’s Cerro Saavedra property in Santa Cruz province has returned encouraging gold and silver values.

Significant gold and silver values were also recovered from stream sediment and chip sampling at the nearby Pluma property.

The company hopes to carry out drilling on nine Argentine properties, including Cerro Saavedra and Pluma, over the next 12 months.
