Having recently opened a 600- ton-per-day custom mill in the Timmins, Ont., area, Diepdaume Mines is looking at a possible production decision this year for its Preston East Dome gold project.
President J. P. Sheridan told The Northern Miner the company will take a bulk sample this quarter and could possibly be in production by May or June.
The old Preston East Dome mine was in production until the late 1960s, and turned out 1.5 million oz gold during its lifetime, Sheridan said. A 4,000-ft shaft exists on the property, as do drifts totalling 80 miles in length, he said.
