DIAMONDS — Platinova continues search in Greenland

Platinova (PAS-T) has wrapped up summer field work at its diamond properties in west-central Greenland.

The company evaluated some 50 geochemical and geophysical targets for kimberlite-pipe potential and extended regional till sampling into new areas. Sample processing to separate kimberlite-indicator minerals is ongoing, and results are expected by mid-December.

Additional till sampling was completed in the area around the previously announced discovery of kimberlite boulders, 80 km from the Kangerlussuaq airport, and kimberlite-indicator minerals from here are also being evaluated. Preliminary results show that some grains of pyrope garnet, chrome diopside and chromite have compositions that fall within the diamond-inclusion field.

Platinova is preparing for next year’s drill program at the Washington Land zinc-lead-silver prospect in northwestern Greenland. The company has already carried out reconnaissance geological mapping, prospecting and geophysical surveys in this area, as well as soil- and stream-sediment sampling.

The geological mapping has shown that the zone of dolomitic alteration and associated zinc mineralization extends about 2 km farther east than previously thought, giving a potential strike length in excess of 4 km. Prospecting to the west has identified similar mineralization.

Platinova has privately placed 1 million shares at 40 cents each for total proceeds of $400,000.
