DIAMONDS — Partners release results

Partners Major General Resources (MGJ-V) and Ascot Resources (AOT-V) have released diamond recovery results from four holes at the Snowy Owl kimberlite pipe on Victoria Island in British Columbia.

Acid digestion of 418 kg of drill core and 20 kg of chips recovered a total of 790 diamonds.

Results include:

  • a 176-kg sample with 180 diamonds;
  • 88 kg containing 526 diamonds (including one 22-kg sample with 417 microdiamond fragments, which might have resulted from the accidental crushing of a larger stone);
  • 154 kg with 83 diamonds; and
  • 20 kg with one diamond.

In all, four macrodiamonds exceeding 0.5 mm were recovered.

Drilling to a maximum depth of 150 metres indicated that the diamonds are distributed throughout.
