A total of 149 macros and 252 microdiamonds was recovered by caustic fusion analysis on a 137.1-kg sample obtained from 13 drill holes that intersected kimberlite dykes in a restricted 1-sq.-km area on the western side of Snap Lake at the Camsell Lake project in the Northwest Territories.
Twenty-five of the macros exceed a size of 1 mm in at least one dimension, the largest measuring 1.8 mm. (A macro is defined as measuring more than 0.5 mm in at least one dimension.)
The Camsell Lake project is a joint venture held 57.3% by Winspear Resources (WSP-V) and 42.7% by Aber Resources (ABZ-T).
Results are pending for two other holes, which pulled 98.5- and 107-Metre-long intervals of kimberlite breccia from anomaly CL 186. Several pyrope garnets and a 0.9-Mm diamond were observed during a preliminary examination of the core.
As part of an overall $1.7-Million exploration budget for the remaining half of the year, Winspear is directing $660,000 towards ongoing till sampling in the Snap Lake area and to follow-up exploration elsewhere on the Camsell Lake property. Field work will also include trenching, geophysics and additional diamond drilling.
