DIAMOND PAGE — Tabora kimberlite yields gem diamonds

Bulk sampling has revealed that the Tabora kimberlite pipe in Tanzania contains high-quality diamonds.

Tan Range Exploration (TNX-A) recovered 16 high-quality gem diamonds from a 384-ton sample. The diamonds fetched an average price of US$148.99 per carat.

The diatreme breccia and hypabyssal part of the Tabora kimberlite cover 1.5 hectares, and the pipe is believed to be amenable to large-scale open-pit and underground mining.

Additional sampling of the Tabora kimberlite will be undertaken to ascertain grade. Tan Range anticipates higher grades in the next phase of sampling.
