DIAMOND PAGE — Partners plan drill program in NWT

A summer exploration program is set to commence at the Doyle Lake project in the Northwest Territories.

Situated 280 km northeast of Yellowknife, the project is a joint venture held 60% by De Beers Consolidated Mines (DBRS-Q) subsidiary Monopros and 40% by Gerle Gold (GGL-V).

The Doyle Lake project includes the LA 1-25 claims, whose northern border lies just 200 metres south of the Hearne kimberlite pipe on Mountain Province Mining’s (MPV-V) AK property. The Hearne kimberlite is one of three diamondiferous pipes discovered last year by Monopros in close proximity to the 5034 kimberlite pipe.

Gerle is the operator and project manager at Doyle Lake; it works in conjunction with, and under the direction of, Monopros, which is funding the project. The summer program will involve the drilling of at least two lake-based targets from the shoreline, in addition to indicator-mineral sampling and ground checks of selected target areas. A number of lake-based targets are slated for drilling in the fall.
