On their jointly held Jericho property in the Northwest Territories, Lytton Minerals (LTL-T) and New Indigo Resources (NDR-A) have identified more than 100 targets they believe may be related to kimberlites.
Exploration of the 480,000-ha property is centred on two pipes, JD-01 and JD-03, that host a total resource of 17 million tonnes with a diamond grade of between 0.7 and 1 carat per tonne.
The geophysical targets are being assessed in preparation for follow-up work. In addition, till sampling in the vicinity of indicator-mineral dispersion trains has further defined the characteristics of the 16 trains that are known to exist in the area.
Lytton and New Indigo are preparing for a summer program of mapping, prospecting and ground geophysics, with an eye toward identifying targets for drilling in the fall.
Meanwhile, a second airborne survey is planned for the 400,000-ha land holding that surrounds the Jericho project. The survey will concentrate on areas east and north of the central Jericho property in which indicator minerals have been found.
