A 10-hole drill program is testing for potential kimberlite targets on the Kikerk Lake diamond project in the Northwest Territories, 500 km north of Yellowknife.
The work is being managed by Condor International Resources (COD-V), which can earn up to a 50% interest in the project from Caledonia Mining (CAL-T). Initially, Condor intends to earn 30% by spending $300,000 on exploration this season. To earn an additional 20%, the junior is required to spend a further $400,000.
The targets were defined by indicator mineral anomalies coincident with geophysics and topographic depressions. The four targets occur on the Hunter East block, where Condor has been carrying out follow-up till sampling since early June.
Preliminary results reveal high levels of kimberlite indicator minerals, ranging up to 5,000 grains per sample. Many of the indicators are said to exhibit adhering kimberlite fragments.
A second phase of sampling was completed on anomalies outside the main indicator mineral train. Results are pending.
