Drilling on the Drybones Bay kimberlite in the Northwest Territories has recovered more than 1 tonne of sample from a single drill hole, Trade Winds Resources (TDN-V) reports.
Collared on the eastern shore of the Bay, a hole angled at 40 intersected kimberlite between a drilled depth of 220-471 metres. A second hole has since reached kimberlite; it was drilled from the same site but at a slightly steeper angle and at an 8 offset. Trade Winds, which holds an option to earn an 80% interest in the property, is conducting a mini-bulk sampling program to evaluate the central diatreme and hypabyssal facies. The property is 50 km southeast of Yellowknife.
