DIAMOND GEMS — A collection of unconfirmed reports

. . . Monopros, the Canadian arm of De Beers, has moved a drill rig onto its diamond claims near Hardy Lake, N.W.T. The cash-rich explorer is expected to follow up results of soil samples that fill, on average, two semi-trailers each week en route to a lab in Grand Prairie, Alta.

. . . Despite attempts to camouflage their drill shacks with brown and green paint (the tundra colors), partners Dia Met Minerals (VSE) and BHP Minerals Canada have been spotted drilling the fourth target of this summer’s program, just east of Exeter Lake, N.W.T. . . . Aber Resources (TSE) has found strong indicators of a diamond-bearing pipe on property it shares with Commonwealth Resources (VSE) and Kennecott Canada. . . . In Quebec, Aur Resources (TSE) is hunting for kimberlites. There is a kimberlite occurrence in Le Sueur Twp., south of Bachelor Lake, not far from some of Aur’s gold claims. . . . In Ontario, Sudbury Contact Mines (TSE) is expected to resume drilling on its Kirkland Lake area claims within the month.
