Drilling is set to begin on the LA 1-25 claims at the Doyle Lake project in the Northwest Territories.
Under an option agreement, Monopros, the Canadian exploration arm of De Beers Consolidated Mines (DBRS-Q), can earn a 60% interest in the project from Gerle Gold (GGL-V).
The program will test a series of targets, many of which lie beneath lakes, prior to spring breakup. Last year, drilling traced a diamondiferous kimberlite sill over a northeasterly strike length of 1.3 km, with intersections ranging from 0.2 to 5.7 metres in thickness. A composite 125.2-kg sample from four holes returned 67 microdiamonds.
