Devil’s property tempts Petro Plus to drill

Drill results from the Devil’s property in Saskatchewan have prompted owner Petro Plus (ASE) to plan drilling for next summer.

Results to date have shown consistent values over minable widths. The 1996 program will test the depth of the mineralized zone and any possible extensions along strike.

Surface samples include: 0.227 oz. gold per ton over 2 ft.; 0.21 oz. over 7.1 ft.; 0.54 oz. over 2.5 ft.; 0.026 oz. over 3.3 ft.; and 0.05 oz. over 4.1 ft.

The Devil’s property lies along the McLennan Lake tectonic zone, which marks the contact between the Central Metavolcanic Belt and the McLennan group (part of the La Ronge gold belt, 56 miles north of La Ronge, Sask.) Gold mineralization is associated with quartz veining, and also with carbonate alteration in granodiorite gneiss.
