Denison rejects share redemption

The board of directors of former uranium producer Denison Mines (TSE) has determined that it cannot redeem (as of Sept. 15) any of its Series B preferred shares and that no payment will be made at this time.

Troubled Denison, which owes money to a long list of creditors, is facing a $100-million cleanup of its closed uranium-mining operations in Elliot Lake, Ont.
