David Bell grades remarkably high

Gil Leathley, Corona’s senior vice-president of operations, recently confirmed rumors making the rounds in the Hemlo camp that the grades were running between one and 1.5 oz per ton. “In the current month we’re running 0.974 oz per ton (33.4 g per tonne). Last month we milled just over the 1-oz mark,” he said. In the Williams mine, the ave rage head grade has been 8.1 g per tonne (0.23 oz per ton).

“We’re in a fairly nice portion of the orebody,” Leathley said. Most of the production is coming from the seventh and eighth levels of the mine. Th e true high grade ore is coming from the 7A level, he said.
