Darnley Bay dispute resolved

A dispute has been resolved concerning prospecting permits issued to Darnley Bay Resources by the Department of Indian Affairs and Northern Development (DIAND).

A portion of Darnley Bay’s ground lies within the proposed Tuktut Nogait national park within the Inuvialuit Settlement region. The Inuvialuit were upset that the permits were issued for claims in the proposed park and asked the company to relinquish them. Darnley Bay did so.
