Cusac draws healthy return from B.C. mine

Gold production of 21,840 oz was achieved in 1987 at the Table Mountain project near Cassiar, B.C., according to preliminary data released by Cusac Industries of Vancouver.

The mine is operated by Total Erickson Resources. Cusac has a net profits interest in the operation; that allocation, Cusac President Guilford Brett said, totalled about $2.4 million for the 12 months ending Dec 31. (The mine has been in production since July, 1986.)

Brett said preliminary data indicate almost 43,000 tons of ore were milled during 1987, at an average grade of 0.55 oz gold per ton.

In other news, exploration work continues at the Cruse/Belmont gold project near Helena, Mont., where reserves to date stand at 93,800 tons in all categories averaging 0.66 oz. Cusac has a 30% interest in the project, and Gulf Titanium a 70% interest.

Cusac was recently listed for trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
