International Curator Resources (IC-T) continues its search for a joint-venture partner to help advance its Boleo copper-cobalt-zinc project in Baja California Sur, Mexico, to final feasibility.
The Vancouver-based company is in discussions with two unnamed parties, one of which recently completed a 26-hole due diligence program.
At last report, Boleo contained a reserve amenable to open-pit mining of 70 million tonnes grading 1.29% copper, 0.89% cobalt and 0.62% zinc. Several studies have succeeded the prefeasibility study, completed by Fluor Daniel Wright in September 1997. A number of new mine plans with varying cut-off grades have been developed, and an economic modelling study will be performed to determine their effectiveness. Mine operating costs are also being evaluated to determine whether a dragline would be a more efficient waste remover than large trucks and shovels.
These studies are expected to be complete by the end of April, at which time they will be incorporated into the updated financial model.
